Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
Arrive at the Kathmandu airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu . (Dinner)
Day 2: Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning to take you on a private tour of Kathmandu . You'll visit the Bodhnath temple, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal , and one of the several monasteries neighboring the stupa. After this Buddhist experience, you will visit Pashupatinath, the holiest of temples for the Hindus. Here you will probably witness a Hindu cremation along the banks of the Bagmati river. Then head to the Patan Durbar Square . After lunch at the museum garden, visit the Patan museum, the finest museum in Nepal . Overnight in Kathmandu . (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 3: Phakding (8,700 ft.)
After an early breakfast, fly to Lukla (9,300 ft.), a spectacular 45 minute flight with views of Gauri-Shankar and Melungtse among other peaks. Trek to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding. (All meals)
Day 4: Namche Bazaar (11,270 ft.)
Today you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park . After lunch, cross the Dudh Koshi river and then brace for your first challenge: the slog up the steep switchbacks to Namache bazaar. Today, depending on the weather, you will get your first view of Mt. Everest . Overnight in Namche. (All meals)
Day 5: Namche Bazaar (11,270 ft.)
This is an acclimatization day. You can choose to rest, hike up to the National Park museum for views of Everest and Amadablam or take a day hike towards Thame. Overnight in Namche. (All meals)
Day 6: Tengboche (12,900 ft.)
First descend to the Dudh Koshi river and then ascend through conifer and Rhododendron forests to Tengboche. The Tengboche Monastery is situated on a ridge and is surrounded by mountains including Thamserku, Kangtenga and Ama Dablam. Overnight in Tengboche. (All meals)
Day 7: Dingboche (14,800 ft.)
From Tengboche, you will proceed through the village of Pangboche . Soon you arrive at Dingboche. While the lower half of Dingboche is lined with trekking lodges, the upper half has fields and yak enclosures. Overnight in Dingboche. (All meals)
Day 8: Dingboche (14,800 ft.)
Another acclimatization day. You can choose to rest or hike towards Chukkung. Overnight in Dingboche. (All meals)
Day 9: Dughla (15,100 ft.)
Today is a short trek day. Trek the high-traverse route to Dughla. This route provides spectacular views of Taboche, Kantenga and Cholatse. Overnight in Dughla. (All meals)
Day 10: Lobuche (16,200 ft.)
Another short trek day. Hike up the steep rocky path to Lobuche. After you settle in at your lodge, you are welcome to check out the various memorials of Sherpas and foreign climbers who have died on Everest or hike up one of the ridges for views of Nuptse and Lhotse . Overnight in Lobuche. (All meals)
Day 11: Gorakshep (17,500 ft.)
Another short trek day. Trek up on a rocky trail towards Gorakshep, our highest camp on this trek. Though most of the trail ascends gradually, there are sections of small steep ascents. Overnight in Gorakshep. (All meals)
Day 12: Gorakshep (17,500 ft.)
Today you hike to the Everest Base Camp. Though the Everest Base Camp does not allow for great views of Everest, you will be able to see the Khumbu Glacier, the most technical and dangerous strip on Everest. Overnight in Gorakshep. (All meals)
Day 13: Lobuche (16,200 ft.)
Hike up Kala-Pathar (18,195 ft.) for a close-up view of the south summit of Everest and the South-Col. Descend to Lobuche. You will soon realize that it is a lot easier and quicker going down (All meals)
Day 14: Tengboche (11,270 ft.)
Retrace the trail back to Dughla. We then continue towards Tengboche via Pheriche where there is a trekkers aid post supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association. Overnight in Tengboche. (All meals)
Day 15: Khumjung (11,525 ft.)
Retrace trail to Phunkitenga. Divert to Khumjung, home of the famous Hillary School and the world's highest bakery. Overnight in Khumjung (All meals)
Day 16: Monjo (9,300 ft.)
Long descent to Monjo. Overnight in Monjo. (All meals)
Day 17: Lukla (9,300 ft.)
Retrace trail to Lukla. Overnight in Lukla. (All meals)
Day 18: Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
Fly Lukla to Kathmandu . Rest of day free. Dinner at Nepali home. Overnight in Kathmandu . (Breakfast)
Day 19: Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
After breakfast, full-day sightseeing. First visit Swayambunath, the monkey temple. Then visit the ancient city of Bhaktapur with its 55-window palace and the famous five-storey temple. Lunch at the square overlooking the temple. Farewell dinner with performance by Nepali dancers. Overnight in Kathmandu . Day 20: Final Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast)
