Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu(1330m):
Meet our representative at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. All the required documents, photos, passport copies etc. are collected for the preparation of all legal documents required during the trek. On the same day you'll be meeting your guide for the trek.

Day 02: Kathmandu(Preparation): 
Trek permit preparation. Day at leisure or you may do a city tour of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur or Patan (optional tour in extra cost).

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara(820m):
After the breakfast we will be heading to Pokhara by tourist bus which takes around 6-7 hours. On the way we would be seeing the beautiful view of the Trishuli river which is flowing side by side through out the most of our way to Pokhara. We even get to witness the people doing rafting in Trishuli river.

Day 04: Pokhara to Jomsom(2770m) to Kagbeni(2800m):
An early morning transfer to airport , 25 minutes flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. This is one of the world's exciting flight to see mountains (Annapurna I (8091m) , Dhaulagiri (8167m), Fishtail (6997m) and other numerous peaks)   closely through plane. We begin our trek to Kagbeni following along the bank of Kali Gandaki river which takes around 3 hours. En-route, we pass through arid part of Kali Gandaki river.  Overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Kagbeni to Samar(3660m, 6-7 hours walking):
After breakfast we take a short walk through a narrow stone-paved path, then we enter to the restricated area of Mustang. From here we continue our walking to east bank of Kaligandaki river. We walk through the impressive village of Tangbe ,Chhusang & Chele overlooking the fantastic landscapes. There is a small, but impressive cave gompa in Chhusang which is dedicated to White Tara, the buddha of Success and Achievement. After 45 minutes continue walking to Chele; we can see the good view of back down the Kaligandaki valley, with the peaks of Tilicho and Nilgiri. After another one and half hour slow pace walking we arrive at Samar, a small picturesque village. 

Day 06: Samar to Ghiling(3750m, 5-6 hours walking):
We walk through the centre of the village and descend to a stream where we can see eroded watercourse; then we climb up and continue up towards the Bhena La (3838m) and Yamda La (3860m). From here we can see our first substantial views of Upper Mustang with coffee-coloured hills nearby; then we walk to Syangboche village following mani walls and stupas; then eventually we arrive at the village of Geling. There are 2 gompas in the village, the date back to 15th century which are worth visiting.

Day 07: Ghiling to Tsarang (3560m, 6-7 hours walking):
Today we climb a steep uphill just above the 2 gompas and continue walking to a pass (4025m) from where we can enjoy overlooking back towards the Annapurnas. Then we trek down to Ghemi ,a small settlement of few tea houses, then continue trek down to a stream and cross a suspension bridge and ascend the upper valley where we can see the longest mani wall in Mustang region. Following the trail beside the mani wall, we climb up another pass of Tsarang La (3870m); and we descend to Tsarang, the old capital of Mustang.

Day 08: Tsarang to Lo Manthang(3800m, 4 hours walking):
Today is the final day of our destination, short and moderate walking to Lo - Manthang, the medieval  walled city. We walk following the Tsarang river to the north and gradually climb up to the Lo La (3950m) from here we can see the good views of Lo - Manthang and northern Mustang. From the pass, it is an easy down hill walk to ancient walled capital of Lo- Manthang.

Day 09: Lo Manthang (Exploration day): 
After breakfast, we go for walking tour around the valley. There are four major gompas which are worth visiting: Jampa Lhakhang or Jampa Gompa, the oldest, built in the early 15th century and also known as the "God house"; Thubchen Gompa, a huge, red assembly hall and gompa built in the late 15th century and located just southwest of Jampa Gompa; Chodey Gompa, now the main city gompa; and the Choprang Gompa, which is known as the "New Gompa".

Day 10: Lo Manthang (Exploration day):
Nepal is a multi-cultural and religious country with their own traditions and festivals. Lo Manthang is also one of such places with Tibetan people living there and they have their own festival which are very popular and interesting to observe. Tiji is the major festival among them which is celebrated for three days dancing and singing in their traditional way.It is normally celebrated during the month of May. The date may differ every year so interested can contact us before for the conformation of the dates. This year(2013) it is going to be celebrated in 6th , 7th and 8th of May. If it is not the festival time we can visit Chhosar village with many caves  and typical Sherpa living there. Besides there are many other beautiful places to visit.

Day 11: Lo  Manthang to Ghemi  (3520m, 5-6 hours walking):
After walking about 1 hour we reach a pass popularly known as Pangga La(4090m) from where we see the beautiful view of the landscapes. It is higgest point of our overall trek. After one and half hour walk down we reach Logekar Gompa which is one of the oldest monastery of the world. Continuing our trek we walk about 1 hour uphill following with another 1 hour downhill and reach Ghemi.

Day 12: Ghemi - Samar (3660m, 6-7 hours):
We start our trek to Samar walking up and downhill equally throughout the trek. On the way to Samar we find a cave named Chungsi with a Gompa inside which is believed to be a cave used for meditation from long time ago. Continuing our trek about 2 hours we reach Samar.

Day 13: Samar to Chuksang(2950m, 3 hours):
Todayís walk would be shorter and easier as compared to the previous days. We trek down for about 3 hours to reach Chuksang and stay there as there is no teahouses until Muktinath. We relax  and prepare for next day trek as it is going to be quite longer and tiring.

Day 14: Chuksang to Muktinath(3800m, 6-7 hours):
We begin our trek walking all the way uphill until the Gyu La(4077m) from where we can see the Panoramic view of the mountain ranges ( Annapurna , Dhaulagiri , Nilgiri and Tukuche) along with the Muktinath valley in front of us. We continue our trek to Muktinath which takes around 2 hours. By today we will be already out of the restricted area of Mustang.

Day 15: Muktinath to Jomsom(2770m):
Early in the morning we go to pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists  where we come across Natural flaming which really exhilarates you. At this point, you can see splendid view of Dhaulagiri (8165m), Nilgiri (7061m.) and others. Then, we start our  trek to Jomsom which takes about approximately four hours. We now begin the descent down the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge, initially through arid country in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet. After passing through Jharkot and Khingar villages with typical Tibetan architecture, you follow the valley floor most of the way to Jomsom which is sprawled along both banks of the Kali Gandaki .From here views of the Nilgiri peaks are fine.Jomsom is head Qatar of Mustang district and one of the biggest  town of that valley. Overnight  at Jomsom.

Day 16: Jomsom to pokhara(820m):
As our trek has already completed, we head back to Pokhara via domestic flight in the morning. We can spen a quality time relaxing and sightseeing in Pokhara.

Day 17: Pokhara to Kathmandu(1320m):
Today we will be back to Kathmandu and as trip comes to an end. We can prefer to go by tourist bus(6-7 hours drive) or can fly by domestic air (35minutes flight) too.

Day 18:Kathmandu  Departure:
After breakfast , a Himalayan Rock Treks and Expdition responsible person will drop you to the international airport.
