Visit the bird’s paradise Keoladeo National Park (also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary) and during the same tour visit cultural highlights such as Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Hawa Mahal in Jaipur and Samode Palace. Finally in Delhi a sightseeing tour is included in this tour; you will visit Delhi Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutb Minar and India Gate.
Keoladeo National Park is situated in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. It is also known as Bharatpur bird sanctuary. Keoladeo National Park /wildlife Sanctuary is famous as bird's paradise, with over 380 resident and migrant species of birds, including the Common, Demoiselle and the rare Siberian Cranes. The Keoladeo Ghana National Park is also an excellent place to spot mammals like Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat, Striped Hyaena, Sambar, Fishing Cat, Nilgai, Blackbuck and wild Boar. In 1981, Keoladeo Ghana bird sanctuary was given the status of National Park. The name Keoladeo has been derived from a nearby ancient Hindu temple, devoted to Lord Shiva. Day 1 Delhi, arrival Day 2 Delhi - Agra, Taj Mahal Day 3 Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Bharatpur, Keoladeo National Park Day 4 Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur Bird`s Sancturary) Day 5 Bharatpur - Jaipur Day 6 Jaipur, Hawa Mahal Day 7 Jaipur - Samode - Delhi Day 8 Delhi, departure |
Day 1 Delhi (Arrival) Arrive at Delhi airport, on arrival, welcome with garlanding and transfer to the hotel. Morning after breakfast proceeds by surface to the city of Taj Agra, stopping enroute at a good restaurant for refreshment. Arrival and check in at the hotel. After check in, we leave to explore the monumental heritage of the Great Mughals, including the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. It`s a wealth of white marble and semi-precious stone - undoubtedly the highlight of our tour. After breakfast, check out from hotel and transfer to Bharatpur (Keoladeo National Park). Enroute we stop at Fatehpur Sikri - which has been describes as `the world`s most perfectly preserved ghost town`. Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was abandoned after only 14 years, and the elegant buildings of this superb walled city remain intact to this day. Arrival Bharatpur and check in at hotel. Evening free. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 4 Keoladeo N.P. jungle activities Experience a balmy walk around the park and observe a varied species of birds that resides there. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 5 Bharatpur - Jaipur (250Kms - 5 hrs) After breakfast, we drive to Jaipur - the fabled `pink city` of the desert named after Jai Singh, the former Maharaja of Jaipur. The palaces and forts of the yesteryears, which were witnesses to the royal processions and splendors, are now living monuments. In the afternoon continue to the `Pink City` of Jaipur, arrive and check inn to the hotel. Day 6 Jaipur Morning after breakfast at the hotel we visit the dramatic hilltop fortress at Amber – ascend the imposing fort on a painted elephant. We wander among glittering inlays and the Hall of Mirrors. Day 7 Jaipur - Samode - Delhi (250Kms – 5 hrs) Morning after breakfast at the hotel we drive back to Delhi enroute we stop at Samode – 50 Kms from Jaipur famous for the elegant Samode Palace, nestled picturesquely amidst rugged hills, Samode Palace with its stately grandeur and frescoed walls is a pleasant journey into the glorious past. The Palace is full of architectural delights-the birds, animals and flowers painted on the walls of Sultan Mahal, the dining room with stained glass windows and its collection of old family portraits, the Durbar Mahal with its painted ceilings and intricately carved walls and beautiful chandeliers give this place its old world charm. Explore the splendid Palace and have the lunch in the Palace. Later we continue by road back to Delhi, arrive and check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. Day 8 Delhi (Departure) Morning breakfast at the hotel, followed by a sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi, including Jama Masjid - this immense mosque is the largest in India, Red Fort – once the most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire, nearby we enjoy the rickshaw ride in the local markets of Chandni Chowk and Kinari Bazar. Later transfer to the Indira Gandhi International airport to board your homeward flight or connect to your onward destination. |
