Druk Path Trek is one of the most popular treks in Bhutan. It is a short and scenic trek with some great views and beautiful lakes en route. Although it leads up to altitudes above 4,000m it is not too strenuous as walking distances between the camps are not too long. Besides the lakes, it is the Phadjoding monastery that is one of the highlights of this trek.
In case you like to combine your Druk Path trek with a festival in Bhutan please see our Bhutan festival calender for actual dates of festivals in Bhutan in 2009.

Day 8 Paro Morning take a hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery (Tiger`s nest): This is Bhutan`s most recognizable cultural icon perched 800m or 2,640ft up a seemingly sheer cliff. Later visit Farm House: Bhutan is justly NOT famous for its cuisine, which is somewhat predictable. Eating at a local farmhouse at least gives a slightly different variation. Later stroll around the town and see how locals live. Overnight at Hotel Olathang, Paro. Day 9 Departure from Paro Early breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the Paro airport to board the flight. Your escort from Himalayan Rock will assist you with exit formalities and bid you farewell. ACCOMMODATION: The hotels used in this holiday are the best government appointed hotels in the country and equate roughly to 3 star standards. All have private bathrooms and are comfortable and well-appointed. There are a few independent luxury hotels, which can be used on request. Tents for the trek are imported from Nepal and are of a high standard.
